    Monday Evening Study
    • Christianity before Constantine
Would you like to know more about early discussions and debates in the church?
This will be the focus of our four-week study on Mondays beginning March 17 and concluding on April 7. We will study early Christian writings about Jesus, Mary, the Church, and Christian prayer and the moral life. These discussions and debates became the foundation that led to the Nicene Creed and the Christian doctrines of the Trinity and the Incarnation.

We will meet each Monday from 7 to 8 PM in the Mater Dei Parish Conference Room and will also use zoom for those who wish to participate remotely. Reading materials will be provided in advance. If you have any questions, please reach out to Linda Harrington, Bev Wharton or the parish office. We hope you will be able to join us.
    Thursday Morning Religious Study

Three to four "topics" ("studies) are covered from September to May. A small fee covers the costs of copying and materials. Learn more and/or register to attend, contact Midge Jensen at [email protected] or 402-632-4628.

    Confraternity of Christian Mothers
    • Confraternity of Christian Mothers

A local chapter of women who support one another in prayer and strive to become the mainstay of spiritual life within their family and a source of blessings to the community.  The Confraternity meets the third Tuesday of every month at 7:30 a.m. to pray the Rosary and celebrate Mass at 8:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church.  After Mass, the women enjoy a brunch, brief meeting, and a time of prayer. All Mater Dei women are invited to join. Learn more, contact Janet Witt.

    Men's Club of Mater Dei
    • Mater Dei Men's Club

Is for all men in the parish who are beyond high school age. If you are a man of Mater Dei Parish, you are already a member! The Men's Club provides opportunities for men to get to know each other and to build new friendships. The Men’s Club helps provide for the parish's needs through funds raised by our world-renowned Lenten Fish Fries and other events. The Men’s Club meets the first Monday of the month, except during the summer and Christmas season. Dues are $10 a year.

    Quilting Group
    • Quilting Group

You don't need to know how to quilt to join. We will teach you. Owning a sewing machine and having basic knowledge how to use it is helpful. Everyone is welcome. We make quilts for ourselves and to donate. We meet the 2nd and 4th Mondays, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Mater Dei office in the Brady Room.
For more information contact: Nancy Ericksen, (712) 251-8615, Diana Wrenn (712) 259-6014, or Holly Wright (712) 253-2560.

The mission of the St. SERRA Club of Siouxland is to encourage and support vocations to the priesthood and religious life in the Sioux City Diocese.  The St. Serra of Siouxland (Sioux City) works with Bishop Keehner and Father Travis Crotty our director of vocations to promote and encourage consecrated vocations through prayer and activities.
The St. SERRA Club is not a parish organization. Many parishioners, like Mary Stevens, are members of SERRA.
    Third Order Carmelites
    • Third Order Carmelites

While not a parish organization, these women follow the example of the Carmelite Order under the direction of the Discalced Carmelite Nuns of Sioux City. Annually, the Discalced Carmelites explain their ministry to women in the parish.
