The Gatherings
- What are the Gatherings??? -We all know how difficult it is to get to know one another within a large parish. The Gatherings are a place where we can “Get Small” and help us to Connect to our Parish Family. Our Gathering Core Teams (12) have been meeting, training, and praying this past month, to better serve our parishioners and their needs. They will be contacting our first 700ish parishioners soon.
- Who will be invited to the Gatherings??? Mater Dei Parish has over 2,500 families and so we know this is a huge venture but we have to begin sometime and that sometime is now. We will begin with inviting 700ish families this summer. It will not be in alphabetical order, so if you are not called do not worry, you will be in the future. As it sits with the volunteers we have, this will take us a few years to work through all parishioners. We are hoping as we begin this journey, this will gain momentum and more volunteers means more Gatherings. We are leaving that in God’s hands. For now we begin with 12 Teams.
- What does the Group Gatherings look like??? Each Team Leader will be calling 12 families and asking them to come join the Gathering. They will let you know the time and place where their meeting will take place. So not to worry.
- Will I be asked to do something??? Our Teams are here to SERVE YOU! Our goal is to get to know you! To help you on your Faith Journey! Answer any questions you may have! Listen to any suggestions you may have! To help you stay Connected to your Church Family throughout the year!
