These ministers sometimes also serve as Greeters as they also greet those coming to Mass. However, their primary duty is to offer assistance to those in need including directing people to pews or to restrooms, taking up the collection[s], distributing parish bulletins at the end of Mass, distributing other materials as needed, and providing other services as needed.
